Janusz Żak from a young age showed his musical interests performing on the stage and playing the piano, guitar and a double bass. He gained his first professional stage experience at The Danuta Baduszkowa Music Theatre in Gdynia. In 2015 he graduated from the solo singing studies at the Faculty of Singing and Acting of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. Since 2016 he has been a soloist of the Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz where he performs the following parts, for example: Mephistofele in Ch. Gounod's "Faust", Figaro in W. A. Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro", Guglielmo in W. A. Mozart's "Cosi fan tutte", Dulcamara in G. Donizetti's "L’elisir d’amore", Colline in G. Puccini's "La Bohème" and Zbigniew in S. Moniuszko's "The Haunted Manor".
In the 2019/2020 artistic season he performed as a guest in The Polish Royal Opera in Warsaw (Zbigniew in "The Haunted Manor" by S. Moniuszko) and The Castle Opera in Szczecin (Guglielmo in "Così fan tutte" by W. A. Mozart)
Janusz Żak has collaborated with Opera Bałtycka [Baltic State Opera] in Gdańsk performing in the following operas: "La bohème" (Colline) and "Gianni Schicchi" (Betto) by G. Puccini and "Eros and Psyche" by L. Różycki.
He gives concerts in Poland and abroad, performing opera, song and oratoriocantata repertoire. Third prize Winner of the 53rd Antonín Dvořak International Vocal Competition in Karlovy Vary (2018).
